　小さな会社や個人がiPhoneアプリで大成功したというサクセスストーリーは幾つかあるが、Androidアプリにも成功の可能性はありそうだ。アプリ開発者アーロン・ラー氏は、Android向けの人気タスクマネージャ「Advanced Task Manager」で年間10万ドル以上を稼ぐ見通しだ。このアプリは99セントの有料版とAdMob広告付きの無料版があり、現在はアプリ売り上げと広告収入で月間およそ1万ドルを稼いでいる。2009年2月のアプリ公開からの累計売上高は8万ドルだ。ラー氏は昼間はIBMの社員として働いている。

　Android Marketは約7万種のアプリを提供しており、20万種のアプリがあるAppleのApp Storeに規模で大きく劣っているが、Androidの勢いは高まっており、4～6月期には米スマートフォン市場でiPhoneを追い抜いている。ラー氏は、80万ドルの売り上げは、iPhoneアプリで聞かれる「一晩で百万長者」のサクセスストーリーには及ばないものの、高収益だとし、「Androidは有望な収入源」だと述べている。

たしかに現在、日本のスマートフォン市場では
AndroidよりiPhoneのほうがシェアが上でしょう。

アプリもiPhoneのほうが多いのが現状です。

ただ、だからといってAndroidアプリが儲からないということにはなりません。

上記ニュースのような成功例も出てきてますし
将来的なことを考えるとAndroidのほうが可能性があるように感じます。

日本のスマートフォンシェアも
来年のうちにはAndroidが逆転するんじゃないですかね？

Androidアプリで収益をあげようと考えた時
「有料アプリを販売しよう」とか
「無料アプリに広告を掲載しよう」ということだけに注目してしまうと
ちょっともったいないように感じます。

アプリが作れることが前提とはなりますが、

いままでAndroidアプリを購入するには
Google Checkoutというサービスに登録する必要があったんですが
これからはそんな手間は必要なくなるんですね。

これで気軽にアプリを購入するAndroid携帯ユーザーが増えるんじゃないでしょうか？

iPhoneにくらべると、Androidアプリでのサクセスストーリーは少ないようですが、
この流れでアプリ開発者のチャンスも広がるでしょうね。

きっとSoftbankモバイルも同じようなサービスを展開するでしょうし。

ただ、どんなアプリでも対象というわけではなく
やはり各キャリアの審査が必要のようです。
